SkillsLogic and Musgrave Analytics to Develop Workforce Data System for the FE Sector
Sheffield software development company - SkillsLogic and Musgrave Analytics are to develop ground-breaking new software that from September 2015 will be used to collect workforce information from the Further Education sector.
SkillsLogic, working in partnership with Musgrave Analytics, has won a three year contract with the Education & Training Foundation to design and build a new web based data collection and analysis solution. The Foundation hopes that sector-wide commitment to data collection will make it easier to identify specific recruitment issues and support smart sector-wide solutions.
The contract builds on the combined strengths of the two companies. SkillsLogic build enterprise level bespoke software applications and Musgrave Analytics creative interactive data visualisation dashboards. Simon Musgrave, Managing Director at Musgrave Analytics said "We will bring our industry wide experience of data analysis and presentation to provide decision makers with key insights into the profile and trends of the FE workforce."
The first phase of the new system goes live in September 2015 with further enhancements to follow over the coming months. The Foundation will encourage Further Education colleges, work based training providers and adult and community learning providers to submit returns through the new system. Organisations that submit data will be able to use dashboards and other reporting tools to benchmark themselves against similar organisations in the sector, spot staffing trends and plan future recruitment.
Mike Jones, Business Development Director at SkillsLogic said:"We went through a tough tender process against some serious competition and our success is testament to the high quality of our team, our sector expertise and the responsive service we can offer clients. We’re looking forward to working with the Foundation."
Charlynne Pullen, Programme Manager Research at the Education and Training Foundation said: "We are looking forward to working with SkillsLogic and Musgrave Analytics to develop a bespoke software solution for the sector that is both useful and easy to complete. We also want the new solution to be inclusive, covering the whole education and training system including FE Colleges, independent training providers, third sector learning providers, local authorities, offender learning providers and specialist providers."
