Celebration of Advancing Digital Event
The Sheffield Workstation hosted a successful Celebration of Advancing Digital event on November 29, 2023, to thank the training providers for working with the council and to recognise the achievements of the businesses and individuals who have participated in various digital skills courses over the last two years.
The event was attended by over 100 guests, including representatives from the council, the training providers, the local businesses, and the learners. The event featured speeches, awards, and networking opportunities, as well as a showcase of some of the projects and portfolios created by the learners.
SkillsLogic Ltd has been working closely with the council to produce a directory of fully funded courses to help develop specific digital skills from introductory to advanced levels. The courses cover topics such as web development, data analysis, digital marketing, cyber security, and more. The courses are delivered online, in-person, or in a blended format, and are accredited by recognised awarding bodies such as City & Guilds, BCS, and CompTIA.
The courses are part of the Career Advance Training initiative, which aims to support the local workforce and economy by providing access to high-quality digital skills training and career guidance. The initiative is funded by the European Social Fund and the Department for Work and Pensions, and is managed by the council. The initiative has helped over 2,000 people to improve their digital skills and enhance their employability prospects since its launch in 2021.
The event was a great opportunity to celebrate the success of the initiative and to acknowledge the hard work and dedication of everyone involved. The event also highlighted the importance of digital skills in the modern world and the benefits of lifelong learning.
